2012/2013 INDUCTION CEREMONY
Induction is a ceremony held annually by the Faculty to induct qualified graduate students into the engineering profession as graduate members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
During the induction ceremony, the graduating students are enlightened on the ethics as well as the law, rules and regulations that guide the practice of the profession in Nigeria and the oath taking by the inductees mark the high point of the event.
The Induction ceremony for the 2012/2013 Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering graduating set took place on Thursday, the 31st of July, 2014 at the Faculty of Technology Large Lecture Theatre.
The event which commenced at 9:00am was colourful with an interesting lecture delivered by the Managing Director/CEO, Alpha Mead Facilities Management & Services Limited, Engr. Olufemi Kayode Akintunde, MNSE.
In total, 239 graduating students were inducted; Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering 29, Department of Civil Engineering 37, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering 40, Department of Industrial and Productions Engineering 30, Department of Mechanical Engineering 49, Department of Petroleum Engineering 36 and Wood Products Engineering 18.
The Vice Chancellor was ably represented at the occasion by the Dean of Technology, Professor E.A. Ajav. In attendance were Deans of other Faculties in the University, Heads of Departments in the Faculty, Staff and Students. Parents and relatives of the inductees were also on ground to add colour to the event.
