Food Technology involves the application of science and technology to food products manufacture, storage, preservation and distribution. Food Technologists are especially concerned with nutritional values, quality assurance, control of product wholesomeness, food plant management, and new product development. They are employed by manufacturers and distributors of food products, and also by chemical, packaging and other industries that supply goods and services, by colleges and universities in teaching and research, and by government agencies concerned with food regulations
