DEAN ATTENDS GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE INITIATIVE WORKSHOP ON FOOD LOSS IN NIGERIA

Professor A. O. Raji, the Head, Department of Agricultural & Environmental Engineering, on behalf of the Dean, attended a stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Global Knowledge Initiative (USA) on Wednesday, 18 December, 2013 in Abuja.

The workshop focused primarily on the post harvest handling and storage, and agro-processing stages of the food value chain.  It was specifically designed to elicit participants’ feedback on high priority needs for which innovative solutions were desired.  Global Knowledge Initiative, being funded by The Rockefeller Foundation is working to ensure that clearer opportunities, more capable stakeholders, and more transformative solutions emerge to deliver benefits to the poor and vulnerable people affected by post harvest food loss.
